OVERVIEW
Treats patients who are sick or injured,
gives advice and emotional support to patients and their families, provides
doctor assistance, and takes care of patient paperwork as per departmental
needs and service.
To provide and maintain a high standard of
nursing care for patients as well as providing nursing assistance to the doctors
and other members of the primary healthcare team. The duties will include all
tasks normally undertaken by an experienced RGN and in addition any roles
agreed between the nurse and the doctors as appropriate, having regard to
current training. The focus of the role is both the delivery of evidence-based
practice for patients presenting with long term conditions and the provision of
preventative health care to the practice population. As an autonomous
practitioner the nurse is responsible for the care delivered, demonstrating
critical thinking and skills in clinical decision-making in the management of
patients. They will work collaboratively within the general practice team and
the wider community teams to meet the needs of patients, support the delivery
of policy and procedures and provide leadership where required.

The salary is based on the national salary
scale.
A Fully qualified nurses start on salaries of £31,365 rising to £37,890 on Band
6 of the NHS Agenda for Change Pay Rates. Salaries in London attract a
high-cost area supplement.
OVERTIME
Payments for unsocial hours are made to NHS
staff
The NHS offers a pension scheme, sickness and
maternity benefits. Nurses employed outside the NHS may not have the same terms
in relation to pension provision or benefits, but may be offered other
incentives such as private health insurance, gym membership etc
